RED + WHITE is a new play by Amanda E. Rountree inspired by the life of Polish figure Maximilian Kolbe. Some of the text in this script is taken from or inspired by: the speeches and letters of Maximilian Kolbe, the poetry Czesław Miłosz, Blaise Pascal’s Pensees, articles in Der Schulungsbrief and Rycerz Niepokalanej, Matsui Toru, Bob Dylan, Krystyna Żywulska, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, J. Robert Oppenheimer, eyewitness accounts of Auschwitz prisoners and guards, and various Polish Catholic texts.
